To provide a measuring instrument capable of measuring the occurring amount of carbon dioxide without using a dangerous reagent and performing complicated operation, and a measuring method using it.
The measuring instrument of the occurring amount of carbon dioxide is composed of an adsorbing part wherein at least two sets of units, each of which is constituted by connecting a reaction part having an introducing port of an oxygen-containing gas, the container connected to the reaction part and filled with a carrier not adsorbing carbon dioxide but adsorbing ammonia and a container filled with a carrier for adsorbing carbon dioxide in series, are arranged so as to be changed over, a heating part capable of heating the adsorbing part, a metering part for metering the amount of the gas adsorbed on the respective part of the adsorbing part and a connection part for connecting the respective parts.
