Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain high resistance to possible flaws and chemicals by forming a hard coat layer at least on a partial external surface of a base material made of a thermoplastic norbornene resin.
CONSTITUTION: A hard coat layer is formed on a surface not contacting chemicals, an organism or an apparatus contacting the organism of a medical apparatus material made of a thermoplastic norbornene resin. The thermoplastic norbornene resin contains 0.01-10wt.% of a blending material incompatible therewith. Thus, there is no deformation even in sterilization nor no denaturation caused to the contacting chemicals due to the elution of impurities and the adsorption of chemical components. This also provides high resistance to possible flaws on external surfaces, facilitates the removal of fouling by a machine oil and further allows steam sterilization at a high temperature.
