Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical guide wire improved in operability in insertion by improving push-in characteristic in insertion to the deep part of the human body and simultaneously heightening the torque responsiveness and torque transmission performance in rotary operation.
SOLUTION: This medical guide wire includes a hollow strand coil body 12 presenting a coreless hollow shape, which is formed by stranding a plurality of metal strands 12a and arranging the same on the same circumference, a solid wire-like core material formed of elastic material, which is disposed in the form of passing through the hollow part of the hollow strand coil body 12 and has a base side body part 14a positioned in the hollow part and an outward projecting part 14b projected outward from the tip of the hollow strand coil body 12 by a designated length, the tip side having a smaller diameter than the body part, and a tip side resin covering 16 applied to cover the outer peripheral part of the outward projecting part 14b of the core material 14 extending over at least the axial partial length.
