Abstract:
PURPOSE: To make constitution simpler and size smaller by fixing a deflecting pipe to the max. acceleration orbit position of electrons within a vacuum vessel and moving an electron gun and the part of the acceleration cavity of an acceleration mechanism on a line connecting its insertion port and the inlet part of this deflecting pipe, thereby aligning an arbitrary orbit to the deflecting pipe.
CONSTITUTION: The microwave electric field generated in a microwave source 13 is introduced by the waveguide in a cylinder 14 into the acceleration cavity 15. The electrons are emitted from the electron gun 16 and accelerated into this microwave electric field. The accelerated electrons are released into the vacuum vessel 11 where the electrons make circular orbit motion in the uniform magnetic field. The electrons are made incident again in the acceleration cavity 15 and are accelerated during this motion. The electrons are taken out of the deflecting pipe 18 arranged in the position of the max. acceleration orbit 17max. The electron gun 16 and the acceleration cavity 15 are moved in directions D, E on the line connecting the insertion port of the electron gun 16 and acceleration cavity 15 and the inlet of the deflecting pipe 18 to align arbitrary circular orbit 17 to the inlet of the deflecting pipe 18.
