Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium to be ink-jet-recorded, which has a high gloss, a high ink absorbency and excellent image coloring properties and develops a few corrugation after recording, and its manufacturing method.
SOLUTION: In the medium to be ink-jet-recorded, in which a primer coating layer including an alkaline-earth metal salt and an adhesive is provided on a base paper and, in addition, an ink accepting layer including ultrafine inorganic particles is coated on the primer coating layer, a barrier layer including a pigment and the adhesive is provided between the base paper and the primer coating layer. The preferable alkaline-earth metal is calcium carbonate. Further, the preferable ultrafine inorganic particle is amorphous synthetic silica by the vapor phase method. In addition, the ink accepting layer is provided after being coated with the primer coating layer and then subjected to a hot calendaring treatment.
