Title:
MELTING FURNACE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3310874
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To introduce a melting furnace having a slag hole and a slag chute by which molten slag can be withdrawn easily without solidifying inside.
SOLUTION: The lower part of a slag hole 1 and that of a slag chute 2, through which molten slag 7 is withdrawn, are reduced in size breadthways with narrowing toward the bottom in their cross sections. This cross-sectional shape keeps the molten slag 7 from flowing zigzag inside, keeps its temperature high, and keeps its viscosity low. As a result, it does not occur for molten slag to solidify inside the slag hole 1 and inside the slag chute 2, as would occur in case of conventional equipment, and the molten slag can easily be withdrawn from the melting furnace.
