Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem such that when the operational message or the like are always displayed by on-screen display, there is the inconvenience that the message wanted to be hidden and an unnecessary message are displayed also at the time of performing presentation or the like and when the message wanted to be hidden is made so as not to be displayed by a setting mode, since the contents of the messages are not displayed at any place, what operation is performed now by a user and what kind of an error message is outputted can not be grasped and what kind of an operation is needed next can not be recognized by the user.
SOLUTION: In a picture display device provided with a display means, an input-output means and an on-screen display means, this device has an on- screen display output selecting means with respect to the display means and/or the output means and an output connection detecting means and the device controls the on-screen output selecting means based on the detection result from the output connection detecting means.
