Title:
METAL GRAPHITE BRUSH
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH02197238
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the abrasion of a brush and the sliding sound through rotation thereof by dispersing 5-300μm pores in a brush structure and by setting the quantity of dispersed pores to 20-70% of that of all pores.

CONSTITUTION: To obtain a metal graphite brush having 5-300μm pores in its structure, a dissolution of 15 parts of phenol resin in 30 parts of alcohol is added as the binder to 100 parts of natural graphite powder. Then, said mixture is dried and pulverized after kneading to form a kneaded powder. Thereafter, PVA is mixed as volatile powder with 65 parts of said kneaded powder and 35 parts of copper powder in the ratio of 5-20% of PVA to said powders, and the resulting mixture is molded at 2.5t/cm2 and subsequently calcined in a reducing atmosphere at 500°C to obtain the desired product.
