NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula II (Mt is a transition metal compound such as Co, Ni, Cu, Fe, Zn, Cr, Ru or Os) having a group expressed by formula I (R1 is alkylene; R2 is alkyl) in at least either one cyclopentadinene ring.
USE: Langmuir.Blodgett membrane for highly functional material such as energy converting material, electrochemical catalyst or oxygen carrying carrier.
PREPARATION: For example, 1-dodecyl-2-iodoacetylene is reacted with propagyl alcohol in methanol in the presence of hydroxylamine hydrochloride and ethylamine to provide heptadeca-2,4-diyn-1-ol, which is then reacted with ferrocene monocarboxylic acid chloride in 1,2-dichloroethane to afford the compound expressed by formula II. The compound expressed by formula II is dissolved in benzene and the solution is uniformly developed on distilled water to provide the Langmuir.Blodgett membrane.
