To obtain an automobile front door glass which exerts an improved safety, especially at driving under rainy conditions.
A hydrophilic film area having a contact angle against water of 20° or lower and a water-repellent film area having a contact angle against water of 70° or larger, are formed on the surface of an automobile front door glass. Preferably, the front half area of the glass is coated with the hydrophilic film, while the rear half area is coated with the water-repellent film. Further, the hydrophilic film is preferably formed from a hydrophilic inorganic film and/or a film containing a photocatalytic semiconductor, while the water- repellent film is preferably formed from a film treated with a water repellant containing a fluoroalkylsilane compound and/or a silicone compound.
