Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase an efficiency of light conversion by a wedge-shaped antenna device in a metasurface capable of modulating input light including wavelengths of at least 880 nm to 40 μm.SOLUTION: A metasurface 1 is capable of modulating input light including wavelengths of at least 880 nm to 40 μm. The metasurface 1 comprises: a GaAs substrate 2; an intermediate layer 3; and a plurality of wedge-shaped antenna devices 4. The GaAs substrate 2 has: a light input face 2a to which input light 10 is input; and a light output face 2b opposed to the light input face 2a. The intermediate layer 3 is provided on the side of the light output face 2b of the GaAs substrate 2, and has a refraction index lower than that of GaAs. The plurality of wedge-shaped antenna devices 4 are provided on a side of the intermediate layer 3 opposite to the GaAs substrate 2, and each have a first arm part 4x and a second arm part 4y connecting to one end of the first arm part 4x.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
