PURPOSE: To provide a method and an apparatus for manufacturing melted metal for cast iron in which the saving of fuel and oxygen gas and the reduction in the oxygen content of the melted metal are realized by regulating a burning time or a flow rate ratio of the fuel to the oxygen gas to meet a melted state presumed from the variation in predetermined gas component in burning gas.
CONSTITUTION: When the variation in a predetermined component content (e.g. CO gas concentration) during burning is detected by a CO gas sensor 7 by using a rotary melting furnace 1, the flow rate of the oxygen gas to be blown to a body 2 is reduced to be switched from an oxidation atmosphere burning to a reducing atmosphere burning. Thus, various types of unnecessary impurities are oxidized to be reduced, and the oxygen content of the melted metal can be reduced by the later reducing atmosphere burning. Continuation of burning for melting despite the completion of melting a raw material can be avoided.
