To provide a method capable of continuously and efficiently producing an acetylenediol by suppressing production of acetylenemonool compound as a by-product as much as possible and increasing production ratio of acetylenediol compound when producing the acetylenediol by reacting ketones with acetylene in the presence of an alkali catalyst in order to solve problems of a conventional technique.
This method for producing an acetylenediol compound comprises reacting the ketones with acetylene in the presence of the alkali catalyst. In the method for continuously producing an acetylenediol compound, the reaction is carried out while continuously feeding a reaction solvent, an alkali catalyst, a ketones and acetylene to a reactor in a first stage and the resultant reaction mixture is continuously introduced into a reactor in a second stage and further the reaction is carried out while continuously and newly feeding ketones to the reactor in the second stage.
