Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting calcium scale deposition of an electroosmosis dewatering device, in which method the calcium scale to be deposited onto a cathode of the electroosmosis dewatering device can be detected quickly and to provide a method for cleaning the electroosmosis dewatering device, in which the cathode thereof can be cleaned appropriately.SOLUTION: A conveyor belt 1 comprising filter cloth is suspended endlessly between rollers 2 and 3 and rotated endlessly along the top surface of the cathode 4. Anode units 21-25 are arrayed in the conveying direction of the conveyor belt 1 and an anode plate 33 is disposed on the undersurface of each of the anode units. When power is supplied to the electrodes by a constant voltage system and the energized amperage becomes a predetermined value or lower for a predetermined time or longer, the amount of the calcium scale to be deposited onto the cathode 4 is determined to become larger and the cathode 4 is cleaned with an acid.
