Abstract:

To provide a method for surely determining the plate end position and the amount of meandering in the direction of plate width, regardless of the temperature changes of a member to be rolled, and to provide an apparatus used for the method.

The method for detecting the plate end position of a hot-rolled member is characterized in that the plate end position in the direction of plate width of a hot-rolled member 1 is detected by an optical detector 3, having the function of adjusting the amount of light received.
