To provide polymorphism of BRCA2 gene, concerning genes related to breast cancer expressing mutation in the gene.
Five DNA and protein determined for the BRCA2 gene are provided. Ten polymorphisms and their frequency of occurrence in the normal alleles of BRCA2 gene are indicated. The sequences BRCA2(omi1-5) and the ten polymorphic sites provide greater accuracy and reliability for genetic testing. Thereby, one skilled in the art can avoid misinterpretations of changes in the gene and/or protein sequence, and determine the presence of a normal sequence and of mutations of BRCA2. A method of performing gene therapy with BRCA2(omi1-5) coding sequences or fragments thereof is also provided. Protein therapy with BRCA2(omi1-5) proteins or their functional equivalents is further provided.
