To generate a database on the design of a new fuel assembly which can be used in a core of one reactor or more.
In an actual example, an initial population of the designs of new fuel assemblies as candidates to be evaluated in a virtual core can be generated from the designs of the fuel assemblies whose stored history records are new. In order to generate the designs of new fuel assemblies as modified candidates, a set for the change in rod types for the given candidates in the initial population can be designated. The new fuel assemblies as the given candidates can be modified by changing one rod type from the set. The operation of the reactor in the virtual core loaded with the assemblies whose designs are modified can be simulated in order to generate the simulation results. The simulation results can include the assembly performance output showing the modified designs of the assemblies.
