PURPOSE: To enable the process of grinding cubic workpieces into balls to be performed continuously in a short time.
CONSTITUTION: An agitating shaft 22 is freely rotatably inserted into a tubular body 1 having polishing powder 23 attached to the inner wall thereof. A number of laterally projecting traps 4 are provided on the agitating shaft 22 and also polishing powder 24 is attached to the overall surface of the agitating shaft 22. As the stirring shaft 22 is rotated, a polishing liquid is discharged from a liquid injection opening 11 and workpieces 6 are fed from the upper side of the tubular body 1. The workpieces 6 move downward within the tubular body 1 and are formed into balls on contact with the stirring shaft 22 and the tubular body 1, and these formed articles are collected into a collecting tank 15.
