PURPOSE: To provide a position inspection technique which enables easy and exact position inspection of an invisible connection part of an inspection object.

CONSTITUTION: In an image loading part 5 of an automatic part mounting device 3 which carries out a connection operation, position information to a background pattern 102 of a connection pattern in an individual substrate 103 before connected and position information to an outline of a connection part 101 in a part 100 are measured and transmitted to a data treatment device 14. Position information of an outline 100a of the part 100 to the background pattern 102 of the substrate 103 which is acquired by an appearance inspection after connection is also transmitted to the data treatment device 14. The data treatment device 14 judges the existence of deviation of the connection part 101 of the part 100 to a connection pattern of the substrate 103 which is invisible from the outside by an operation of a data operation part 12 and an operation value judgment part 13 and outputs it to a judgment result output device 15.
