PURPOSE: To furnish a method and equipment for formation of a trough skimmer which shorten a construction period, to dispense with much experience for operation and to enable improvement of a working environment and quality.
CONSTITUTION: A flow passage into which a refractory 4 can flow from the circumference is ensured by a release part 20 so provided at a position of formation of a skimmer of a trough core 10 as to correspond to the length of the skimmer, while skimmer partitioning plates 12 fixed at the opposite ends of the release part 20 of the trough core 10 respectively and having a height corresponding to the height of the skimmer, and a core 14 for the skimmer which is movable in the longitudinal direction through a space formed by openings 22 under the skimmer partitioning plates 12 and by the inner peripheral part of the trough core 10, are provided. After the skimmer partitioning plates 12 and the upper surface of the core 14 for the skimmer are made a frame to set the length of the skimmer and the openings 22, a trough pouring operation is executed. According to this constitution, an operation for formation can be shortened and improved.
