To provide a method for evaluating a polyimide precursor which can precisely and quantitatively measure the solubility and developability of a polyimide precursor, a polyimide precursor solution, and a color paste having a polyimide precursor as the major component, to provide a method for measuring an imide ring closure rate which can be widely applied to the polyimide precursor having an usual diamine as a monomer, and a method for manufacturing a high quality level color filter by using a precisely evaluated polyimide precursor.
The method for evaluating the polyimide precursor comprises effecting the quantitiative measurement of the imide ring closure rate in a polyamic acid structure in the polyimide precursor having both the polyamic acid structure formed by reacting an acid dianhydride with the diamine, and the diamine being added to the acid dianhydride and a polyimide structure obtained by the imide ring closure of the polyamic acid structure by measuring amide residual groups present in each structure of the polyamic acid structure and the polyimide structure.
