Abstract:
To provide a fumigating method which, while using a fumigant hardly exerting a bad influence on the environment, can control insect pests in chestnuts as effectively as a methyl bromide fumigant.
This fumigating method for effectively controlling insect pests in chestnuts comprises vaporizing, by heating, a fumigant comprising methyl iodide as an effective ingredient and fumigating a fumigating apparatus while stirring the inside thereof.
