Abstract:

To provide a method for joining members by stud welding which is adaptable to weight reduction by using the stud material of a cylindrical shaped female thread body without impairing an appearance.

A projecting part 5 for joining, which projects toward the surface of a plate-like base material 1 in an acute angle shape, is formed integrally with an opening end part of a base end side of a stud material 2 of the cylindrical shaped female thread body, and the projecting part 5 is welded by stud welding onto the surface of the plate-like base material in a butted condition. Thus, the welding method can be adaptable to the weight reduction, and the deformation of the plate-like base material 1 caused by the adverse thermal effect is restricted.
