To provide a method for joining metallic members, with which remaining of oxide in joining parts of metallic members, particularly, in the vicinities of the surfaces of the joining parts, and the lightweight joined body of the metallic members having high rigidity can be produced.
The method includes: a first stage of preparing a first steel 11, a second steel 12 and an Ni-based insert material 13; a second stage of interposing the Ni-based insert material 13 between the joining face of the first steel 11 and that of the second steel 12; and a third stage of heating the Ni-based insert material 13 while pressing the joining faces of the first steel 11 and the second steel 12 each other. In the third stage, the first steel 11 and the second steel 12 are synchronously rotated with a rotary shaft L1 extending in the pressing direction of the joining faces as the center, and oxide 14 present in the joining faces is made to migrate in at least either the direction of the rotary shaft L1 and the outer side direction of each joint.
