PURPOSE: To provide a cooling method for lowering the temp. of exhaust gas without badly influencing blast furnace operation at the time of the ordinary operation in the blast furnace, and a method for making water spraying quantity necessary min. the equipment small scaled at the time of blow-through abnormal operation in the blast furnace which is scancely generated.
CONSTITUTION: In the case of raising the temp. of exhaust gas at the time of the ordinary operation in the blast furnace, by spraying the water with a water spray nozzle 17 for obtaining the fine water drips at the furnace top in the blast furnace, the temp. of the exhaust gas is lowered. Further, in the case of abnormally raising the temp. of the exhaust gas at the time of the blow-through abnormal operation in the bvlast furnace, the water is sprayed into a dust collector with the water spray 18 so that the temp. of the exhaust gas becomes a preset temp. or lower to lower the temp. of the exhaust gas.
