In the method of manufacturing the diaryl derivative expressed by general formula (1): Ar1-Ar2 in which Ar1 and Ar2 show each a phenyl group, a condensed cyclic group, or a heterocyclic group optionally having one or more substituent groups, and Ar1 and Ar2 are optionally the same or different; a boron derivative expressed by general formula (2): Ar1-B(OR3)2 (2), in which Ar1 shows one the same as being mentioned above; R3 shows a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, or an aryl group; is reacted with an aryl derivative expressed by general formula (3): X-Ar2 (3) in whch X shows an iodine atom, a bromine atom, or R4-SO3-; R4 shows an alkyl group, a fluorinated alkyl group or an aryl group; Ar2 shows one the same as being mentioned above; in the presence of a base and a palladium catalyst in an aqueous solvent.
