Abstract:

To prevent trouble of a fiberoptic cable due to foaming of glass FRP.

In a method for manufacturing the fiberoptic cable, the temperature of thermoplastic resin is set to 160 to 190°C when a tension member 2 of glass FRP and an optical fiber are coated with a coating layer 3 of the thermoplastic resin by extrusion. The temperature of cooling water in a 1st cooling water tank 70 used for the 1st time to cool the coating layer 3 after the fiberoptic cable 1 is formed by extrusion and coating is set to 15 to 50°C.
