Abstract:

To provide a method for manufacturing a hydrogen-absorbing carbon material showing superior performance.

The manufacturing method is characterized by coating a hydrogen-absorbing metal or a hydrogen-absorbing alloy with an electroless plating method, on the surface of a porous carbon material having an average micropore diameter of 3.5-100 and a specific surface area of 400-3,500 m2/g, when measured with a gas absorption method, so as to make the amount of the hydrogen-absorbing metal coated or the hydrogen-absorbing alloy coated to be 0.1-50 mass% with respect to the porous carbon material.
