Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an optical member that includes a process of applying a liquid to a substrate, has less coating unevenness, and has less occurrence of a defect of a stripe shape.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing an optical member includes a coating process of conveying a substrate in a state where one surface of the substrate faces a die head and applying a coating liquid containing at least one solvent to the one surface of the substrate by using the die head. The coating liquid has a viscosity at 25°C of 3 mPa s or less. The coating process comprises forming a bead of the coating liquid by extruding the coating liquid from a discharge port of the die head, and extending the bead on the one surface of the substrate. In the coating process, the amount of dissolved oxygen is 7.0 mg/L or less. The coating process is performed under a condition where upstream side pressure P0 (Pa) and downstream side pressure P1 (Pa) satisfy equation: |P0-P1|≤5.
