PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the molding failure of a porous body.SOLUTION: A mixture comprising a thermoplastic resin, a water-soluble core material whose shape does not change in a state where the thermoplastic resin is molten, a water-soluble polymer compound having a melting point lower than that of the thermoplastic resin is heated to a temperature of melting the thermoplastic resin. The molten mixture is made to pass through a hot runner in a molding die to be injected from a gate into a cavity. A molded product is obtained by forming a first die part that defines the gate and a region near the gate in the cavity, with a material having a thermal conductivity higher than that of a second die part that defines a region far from the gated in the cavity, and cooling and solidifying the mixture in the molding die cooled by temperature control means. The molded product is immersed into water to extract and remove the water-soluble core material, whereby a porous body having a three-dimensional communication network structure is produced.
