To provide a method for manufacturing a rotary electric machine, that facilitates positioning and gripping of magnetic pole members in a manufacturing process of a core and simplifies a gripping tool.
A method for manufacturing a rotary electric machine includes: a core member forming step in which, out of a single electromagnetic steel sheet, a core member is formed that has magnetic pole members, each having magnetic pole teeth, and a frame body with peripheral portions of the magnetic pole members integrally connected thereto; a lamination step in which core members are laminated so as to form a laminated core member that includes a laminated frame body 50 and laminated magnetic pole members; an insulation step in which the laminated core member is subjected to insulation; a transport step in which the laminated core member is transported; a winding step in which windings are wound around magnetic pole teeth of the laminated magnetic pole members; and a separation step in which, after the winding step, the laminated magnetic pole members are separated from the laminated core member.
