Abstract:

To provide a method for predicting the effectiveness of a radiation treatment for a cancer patient.

This method for predicting the effectiveness of the radiation treatment for the cancer patient is characterized by comprising (a) a process for biopsying cancer cells or a cancer tissue from the cancer patient, (b) a process for measuring the expression level of a hepatoma-derived growth factor (HDGF) in the cancer cells or cancer tissue obtained in the process (a), and (c) a process for predicting whether a remarkable treatment effect is obtained or not, when the cancer patient is treated with radiations, on the basis of the measurement result obtained in the process (b).
