To provide a method of preventing inner circumferential sag of a coil by which the outer circumferential position can be set at a position suitable for a binding work, and the inner circumferential position of the coil can be set at a position causing no inner circumferential sag of the coil.
The present inner circumferential position of the coil wound around a tension reel 4 is stored. A strip 1 is cut and the tension reel 4 is stopped so that the outer circumferential of the coil is at a predetermined position when the winding of the predetermined amount of the coil is completed as before, however, immediately before the above operation, offset quantity required for the inner circumferential of the coil to be at the position of 00:00 to 09:00 by the clock indication when the tension reel is stopped is calculated from the stored inner circumferential position of the coil, the coil diameter at the position, and the distance between the tension reel 4 and a shear 3, and the strip 1 is cut at the position.
