To prevent an edge-up caused by float-up of both edge parts of solidified shell from the peripheral surface of drums in the production of a thin cast strip by using a twin-drum type continuous casting apparatus.
In a twin-drum type continuous casting method, with which the thin cast strip s is cast by continuously supplying molten steel M into a molten steel pool part 3 formed in between a pair of cooling drums 1, 1 and solidifying, a seal chamber 4 for airtightly covering the upper space of the molten steel pool part 3, is arranged, and non-oxidizing gas is supplied into the seal chamber and also, atmospheric pressure in this seal chamber is detected with a pressure gage 6, and the supplying amount of the non-oxidizing gas is adjusted so that this atmospheric pressure becomes 1.01-1.3 atm.
