Abstract:

To provide a method by which unevenness due to hydrogen generation is not caused on the plating face, and a black plated article also having a high blackening degree is produced when mainly, Co, Ni and Fe are electrochemically precipitated while generating hydrogen to obtain a black plating layer.

In the method for producing a black plated article, in the plating process where mainly, Co, Ni and Fe are electrochemically precipitated while being accompanied by hydrogen generation on one side of a planar cathode 3 in a plating liquid comprising at least one kind of cation selected from iron (II), nickel (II) and cobalt (II), so as to obtain a black plated article in which, on at least one kind of metal selected from iron, nickel and cobalt, the oxide or hydroxide thereof is co-precipitated over the face of the cathode 3, with the substrate face to be plated as the cathode 3 as the lower part and a soluble anode 4 as any one kind selected from metal iron, metal nickel and metal cobalt or an alloy thereof as the upper part, both the electrodes are installed in the plating liquid, so as to be confronted each other, and the cathode 3 is installed at an angle of 0 to 60 to the horizontal direction, and electrolysis is performed.
