Abstract:

To provide a sliding member which has a sliding layer showing a superior adhesive force to a metal base.

In a sliding member having the sliding layer 11 formed on the metal base 10 by making metal powders of a solid state collide with the metal base at a supersonic speed, the sliding layer 11 is formed to be a low melting point metal having a melting point of 400C or lower. Thus formed sliding layer can be dense and acquire the high adhesive force, because the low melting point metal is generally soft, and is easily and largely deformed by the collision occurring when the film is formed on the metal with a cold spray method.
