To provide a method for producing a conductive polymer having excellent extension/contraction ratio per one oxidation/reduction cycle and increased generation power, a conductive polymer produced by the method, a conductive polymer molded article obtained by using the conductive polymer, a laminate comprising a conductive polymer layer containing the conductive polymer and a solid electrolyte layer, a method for producing an actuator by using the molded article or laminate of the conductive polymer as a driving part or a pressing part, and an actuator produced by the actuator production method.
The method for the production of the conductive polymer comprises the electrolytic polymerization to produce a conductive polymer exhibiting extension and contraction by electrochemical oxidation reduction. The electrolytic polymerization is carried out by using an electrolyte solution containing trifluoromethane sulfonic acid ion and/or an anion containing a plurality of fluorine atoms based on one center atom, using the solvent of the electrolytic solution composed solely of an organic compound and using a metallic electrode as the action electrode to form the conductive polymer. The conductive polymer contains pyrrole and/or a pyrrole derivative in the molecular chain.
