The method for producing the derivative of 2-pyridinesulfonic acid( salt ) of the general formula(II) easily in high yield comprises carrying out a reaction of the corresponding easily and industrially synthesizable 2-sulfonylpyridine derivative of general formula(I) with a sulfite or bisulfite without generating any by-product gas affecting the environment.
