To provide a method for producing a desired dialkyl carbonate and an alkylene glycol from an alkylene oxide, an aliphatic alcohol and carbon dioxide under a mild condition in high yield and selectivity by simple operation.

The dialkyl carbonate is produced together with the alkylene glycol by reacting a mixture comprising carbon dioxide, a 2-10C alkylene oxide and a 1-10C aliphatic monohydroxy compound in the presence of a basic compound and an organometallic compound expressed by general formula at 40-200°C temperature under 0.2-30 MPa pressure.
