To provide a method for producing (meth)acroleine and (meth)acrylic acid, with which (meth)acroleine and (meth)acrylic acid are produced in a high yield.
In the method for producing (meth)acroleine and (meth)acrylic acid, with which a fixed bed reactor is used and a raw material gas containing propylene, propane or isobutylene is supplied to the inside of a reaction tube packed with a catalyst and subjected to vapor-phase catalytic oxidation, the raw material gas is supplied from one side of the reaction tube. After (meth) acroleine and (meth)acrylic acid are produced, the supply direction of the raw material gas is changed, the raw material gas is supplied from the other end of the reaction tube to produce (meth)acroleine and (meth)acrylic acid.
