Abstract:
To provide a method for producing a polyester suppressed in fine foreign matters and suitable as a white film for a reflection plate for a liquid crystal display.
The method is such that after an esterification reaction or a transesterification reaction in production of a polyester from a dicarboxylic acid component and a diol component, 1 to 100 ppm in terms of phosphorus atom to an obtained polyester of a phosphorus compound is charged in a vessel composed of a polymer having substantially the same component as a polymer obtained by a polycondensation reaction for the polyester after a stirring machine of a polycondensation reactor is stopped, and then the stirring is restarted.
