Abstract:

To provide a method for producing a sodium silicate solution, in which a sodium-based by-product can be recycled and the sodium silicate solution having a stable component is produced safely from the sodium-based by-product so that the produced sodium silicate solution can be substituted for at least one chemical selected from a land improving agent, a caking agent when a casting mold is manufactured, a deinking agent for used paper, and a stabilizer of hydrogen peroxide when paper or pulp is bleached.

The method for producing the sodium silicate solution comprises the steps of: dissolving the sodium-based by-product in water, which is produced as the by-product from a process for improving purity of silicon, contains silicon and is based on sodium silicate; and further dissolving the silicon contained in the sodium-based by-product to generate hydrogen gas and produce the sodium silicate solution.
