Abstract:

To obtain spherical silicone fine particles having a narrow particle size distribution.

(A) An organotrialkoxysilane is hydrolyzed in an acidic water having an electrical conductivity of ≤10 μS/cm to obtain a silanol solution. (B) An alkaline aqueous solution is added to the solution and mixed to adjust the electrical conductivity to 30-100 μS/cm. The mixture is subjected to polycondensation reaction in the state of still standing. Before adding the alkaline aqueous solution, a ≥4C alcohol is added in an amount of 1-80 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. organotrialkoxysilane and in step (B), the change in temperature is controlled within ±2°C while maintaining a temperature of 5-20°C until fine particles are deposited.
