Abstract:
To provide a method for producing a water-absorbing resin including a step of drying a hydrous gel polymer obtained by a reversed-phase suspension polymerization method, which can improve physical properties of an obtained water-absorbing resin, especially, water absorption speed.SOLUTION: A method for producing a water-absorbing resin includes a polymerization step of polymerizing a monomer in a state where droplets containing the monomer are dispersed or suspended in a hydrophobic organic solvent, and obtaining a hydrous gel polymer, and a drying step of drying the hydrous gel polymer using an agitation type dryer, and obtaining a particulate dry polymer, wherein the agitation type dryer has a rotation container that stores the hydrous gel polymer and rotates, and heating means for heating the stored hydrous gel polymer, and a temperature of the hydrous gel polymer supplied to the agitation type dryer is 50°C or higher.
