Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently produce phenol from benzene by direct oxidation.SOLUTION: In a first embodiment, a method for production of phenol is provided in which phenol is produced by oxidizing benzene with oxygen in the presence of ammonium and porous metal oxide carrying one or more kind of alkyl metal and alkyl earth metal. In a second embodiment, a method for production of phenol is provided in which phenol is produced by oxidizing benzene with NO in the presence of the porous metal oxide carrying one or more kind of alkyl metal and alkyl earth metal. In a third embodiment, a method for production of phenol is provided that is identical to the method in the second embodiment except that the porous metal oxide is zeolite.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
