To provide a method for forming a high gloss image protection layer on the image surface of a printed matter, and to provide equipment for forming a protection layer using that method.
The equipment 10 for forming a protection layer comprises a means for traveling a printed matter P, a means 14 for coating the image surface of a traveling printed matter with coating liquid to form a coat layer C, and a means 15 for laying a resin film F on the surface of the coat layer C under wet state to produce a laminate sheet PF and stripping the resin film F from the laminate sheet PF after the coat layer C is dried. The film laying/stripping means 15 comprises a section 150 for supplying the resin film F onto the image surface, and a film collecting section 156 disposed at specified interval to the film supplying section 150 wherein a means 16 for drying the coat layer C under wet state is provided between them.
