Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable water pumping in such a high head as a conventional fire truck (pump car) cannot pump up water, by utilizing heretofore facilitities, and to enable feeding of sufficient quantity of water.
SOLUTION: In a method of pumping and feeding water by a fire truck equipped with a water pump 14, water discharging ports 15a-15b as well as water sucking ports 16a-16b connected to the water pump 14, a hose 2 connected to the water discharging port 15a is connected to an inlet 12 of a turbine chamber 12 of a hydraulic power driven type turbopump 3 including the turbine chamber and a pump chamber. A hose connected to an outlet 13 of the turbine chamber of the turbopump 3 is connected to the water sucking port 16a, and a hose 4 for drawing off is connected to the water discharging port 13 of the pump chamber of the turbopump 3, thereby forming a circulation path linking the water pump 14 of the fire truck and the turbine chamber of the turbopump 3. By circulating water by the water pump 14, the turbopump 3 is driven, and the water sucked from the sucking port 9 of the pump chamber of the turbopump 3 is pumped and fed through a hose 5 connected to the water discharging port 10.
