To perform objective and quantitative evaluation for a design exercise work in training and education of designing.
The method comprises obtaining, from image data obtained by photographing a design exercise work, numerical values showing quantities characterizing molding elements for each part constituting the design exercise work, defining distances between two adjacent quantities when arranging the quantities characterizing the molding elements for each part in the descending order of size, respectively, determining the number of independent clusters by classifying each of the distances which is within the range of a certain threshold into the same cluster, and determining a quantitative evaluation value that is an index for evaluation of the molding elements according to evaluation items related to the design exercise work from the number of clusters and the distribution form thereof.
