Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce the volume of waste expanded polystyrene (refuse) having a large volume per unit weight at low temp. and to easily recover the waste expanded polystyrene.
CONSTITUTION: Waste expanded polystyrene is dipped in an oil-in-water type emulsion kept at ≤100°C and mechanically compressed, if necessary, to crush the air bubbles contained in the waste, and the volume of the waste is reduced by this new method.
