Abstract:
PURPOSE: To contrive labor-saving by deciding whether applying condition of compound is normal or defective with high accuracy.
CONSTITUTION: In a method for seaming top and bottom sheets of a metal can by applying the compound 8 for sealing to the peripheral edge parts of a barrel body 2 or the top and the bottom sheets 5 and seaming the edge part of the barrel body 2 and the top and the bottom sheets 5 the applying condition of the compound 8 applied on the peripheral edge part is imaged with a TV camera 11 and a video signal of the applying condition of the compound 8 is binarized and the ratio of the area occupied with the compound applying to the window area is calculated in the prescribed window 37. Then, by comparing the area ratio with the prescribed reference value to decide whether the applying condition of the compound is normal or defective.
